(1) Medium-chain triglycerides, or MCT for short. Typical MCT refers to triglyceride mixed from saturated caprylic triglyceride or saturated capric triglyceride or saturated caprylic acid and capric acid.
(2) MCT is composed of saturated fatty acids with a low solidifying point; at room temperature it is an odorless and colorless clear liquid with low viscosity and excellent oxidation stability.
(3) MCT is highly stable at both high and low temperatures. It's boiling point is above 233ºC (20 mmHg). It has a low cloud point(below -5ºC). Its viscosity is about 50% of that of ordinary vegetable oil.
(4) MCT has low surface tension and great extensibility on skin, and has good intersolubility with various compounds.
